The GR on FIRE and .. the Sigma is back!

My thoughts on the GR so far; It's a joy to use ... if you know how. It's not the 'perfect' camera and I made the mistake of recommending it to a friend a couple of days back. He is not a noob per se but not really active either. Raw? Nope .. Don't know. Workflow? Nay ... OOC jpeg will do. Snap focus? TAV? .. One confused (angry) soul who only wanted a new cam for his faulty Canon G9. Heh.

Anyway some good news and my Sigma DP1M is back from Japan! All fixed and looking very clean .. Will do a shoot out soon :)

So for now .. Some random shots from the GR.

The Mantle of GR ..

Short Note:

(1) AF is reasonably fast .. nothing fantastic
(2) It's the ultimate therapy for tweakers .. high on the customization list
(3) Very light. Low heft .. way lighter than most cameras in my stable
(4) Not much of a grip but still comfortable to hold
(5) Battery life could be better though ..

A Sour Day and A Bad Week ...

My primary snapshooter, the Sigma DP1M,  is on the way to Japan for further checks and will be back likely only next month. I thought the Olympus E-P5 will be a great distraction and I can't wait to check out the improved '5-axis' stabilizer (me shaky hands and all) over the weekends; Only to have the battery jamming up on me. Apparently a grub screw came loose within the compartment ... all these in a less than a week old camera?!

Oh well ... someone gotta to step up to the plate and show 'em how's it's done in a super-light package of a P&S?! Who else ... but the Ricoh GR! More shooting less talking ... come back soon for more.
